french cafe hook

Beautifully styled shots like this make me warm and toasty inside. Is that weird? I don't care. And that gray green paint color? Sublime...thinking lower kitchen cabinet color. What's that you say? This from the crazy girl who is always posting pictures of all white kitchens? Well, the upper SHELVES will be white--along with the subway tile and the gorgeously gray-veined carrera marble countertop. To dream, to dream.

Have a great weekend(:

Oh yeah, photo from here.

more chairs | urban outfitters

Ooo...look at this one! Much cheaper, too.

starting to hyperventilate | new chairs from pb

Can't talk now...drooling.

Yes, there is a new tag: "green."

tiny table

We're getting ready to do a little patio reno in the back yard so I've been browsing for a table to put between our two adirondack chairs. I just found this and LOVE IT!

(I know, I know, its green. Geez...)

gorgeous

I love this bag. I want this bag. What is it you ask? It's the Hau Hauz Jive Bag I found at Huset. It will be going on the greedy slob list.

Question. Do I need therapy for my green obsession? Don't care.

OMG!

I just caught a glimpse of the Xi Li Bench by House Eclectic on dose of design. If this wasn't $1,000 it would be sitting on my front porch right now. It also comes in lemon, yum!

kidstuff | the owyn toybox

This is so adorable and creative. It's the Owyn Toybox from modmomfurniture. I love the way the leaf shape come off so you can get inside. A beautiful design for the kids' room or even the living room. Love it! (And, of course, I love the name...and the spelling is cool, too!)

decorating overdrive!

My beautiful sister-in-law Amanda is expecting her first baby in May and I am hosting her shower at our house in March. We recently shifted the rooms in our house around—moved the play area to what was the formal dining room, moved the formal dining room to where the formal living room was and created an office out of the former play area/room. Anyhow, everything is all mixed up now from a decorating point of view and the worst room by far is the dining room, which also serves as the entry to the house. The shower has given me that all-so-important deadline to get that room in shape, which I desperately need or all I will futz around forever deliberating over these drapes or those and that rug or the other. Matt hates this about me and I can't really say that I blame him.

I've mostly been looking for some new accessories to help transition the room from formal cottage to modern cottage and I found this great print from Anthropolgie that I am thinking about using as an inspiration piece. What d'ya think?

Be still my heart.

I just love Pottery Barn. Okay, I know you are thinking, "They are so expensive and everybody loves PB, so how is that at all original?" I agree. I don't want a house that looks like a Pottery Barn store threw up in it, but PB gives those of us with modest budgets the opportunity to purchase decent quality, well-designed furnishings. And right now, they have jumped on the cliche "green" bandwagon. While I am a total proponent of sustainable living and all that it entails, I am personally sick of seeing the "green" thing everywhere. However, the one fabulous benefit of it is that PB has actually incorporated the color green into its designs this season and the result is magnificent—all sorts of shades of green and frankly, I am drooling. I just went to the mailbox and pulled out their latest catalog and this is the cover beauty shot. I am in heaven.

Part of my lust after this vignette is sentimental, I must admit. My grandmother loved green and yellow and all my life her home was decorated in shades of those wonderful spring colors. The colors used in this photo are very reminiscent of the particular shade she seemed to love most. She was also a fabulous interior designer and I think she would highly approve of the styling depicted here. This photo reminds me so much of her. I miss her.

p.s. Did you notice I changed the blog's background color? I am ready for Spring(:
